Vermont is very, very special to me. I’ve had family living there for a long time, so for over 3 decades now, I’ve traveled and spent quality time in the Green Mountain State. I’ve tubed in rivers, skiied through mountains, hiked all over, and made spent countless hours around campfires and wood-burning stoves making music.
When Hurrican Irene hit in 2011, I visited just a few weeks after the storm, and saw first-hand the washed-out bridges, destroyed homes and flooded farms.
So when the floods came again two weeks ago, it brought back those memories, as I’m sure it did tenfold for those that spend their lives there.
On Monday July 24, I’ll be starting my six hundredth show as usual at 5 pm ET, and will be playing for three hours straight. It will be an all-request show, drawing from my repertoire of over 400 songs.
I’ll be calling for donations to the Vermont Community Foundation, which is collecting donations to help with immediate response and recovery needs for those affected.
If you can’t join but are interested in helping out, here is their website: https://www.vermontcf.org/our-impact/programs-and-funds/vt-flood-response/
I’ll be doing requests the entire time. Feel free to request as many songs as you want! Just choose a song from the list below, along with your name if you would like it to appear on the show.
I hope you can consider helping out.
Hope to see you there!
